Mountain Retreat

Bolton Landing Mountain Retreat on Private Lake: Alderbrook Lodge

Originally built as a year round hunting and fishing lodge, Alderbrook Lodge provides all the comforts of home. Nestled between mountains and streams, this charming 100-acre retreat overlooks their own private ten acre stocked pond. For those who love peace and quiet, “The Lodge” is secluded without being inconveniently remote. It is only a few minutes drive to either Bolton Landing or Lake George.

The Lodge — Guests are welcomed by a large center stone fireplace, which divides the great room into four areas. The walls are a warm knotty pine with matching beamed ceilings. A 12-point deer, in seasonal attire, overseas the activities in both living and dining areas.

The Dining Area — The kitchen is fully equipped for large groups. Large cooking utensils, a Garland commercial stove with double ovens, a dishwasher, microwave, and two refrigerators all aid in effortless entertaining. Truly a gourmet’s delight!

The Porch — The large screened wrap around porch is a favorite gathering place. A perfect spot for games, meals, reading or just socializing. In any season, the view of the mountains and the water is both comforting and relaxing.

A wide wood and bark stairway leads to eight comfortable bedrooms on the second floor. There are two full baths and towels are available. Sheets are provided by the local laundry at a minimal charge. A washer and dryer are on the first floor. The maximum accommodation is 16 people including children.

Activities — Swimming, canoeing, sailing, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, badminton, and golf courses are nearby. Trails for hiking are plentiful.

Bolton Landing — Bolton Landing is a charming village located on the shores of Lake George. The lake is 32 miles long with many islands, bays, and points of interest. The lake’s spring-fed water is rated some of the purest in the world. Lake George is noted for its spectacular beauty and provides year-round activities. Area attractions include the Adirondack Balloon Festival, the Americade, the Blue Mt. Adirondack Museum, the Great Escape, Hudson River whitewater rafting, the world’s largest garage sale, the barber shop quartet weekend, Fort William Henry, Oktoberfests, antique shows, rodeos, winter carnival, ice fishing, and alpine skiing at three local areas.
